Hello, and welcome to my little corner of the Internet!

I’m Chris Conolly (a.k.a. “Mr. Conolly” or “Mr. C”) — an educator, children’s book author, and martial artist practitioner/instructor. I wear a lot of hats, but the heart of everything I do is a passion for inspiring others to learn, grow, and become the best version of themselves. “Mr. Conolly’s Corner” is a reflection of that and I’m so excited to share it with you.

For many years, I’ve dedicated my life to teaching and empowering students, teachers, and families to unlock the power of literacy. I believe reading and writing are two of the most important gifts we can give to children —skills that spark creativity, foster connection, and unlock the door to endless possibilities.

I also firmly believe in lifelong learning, and I’ve always seen myself as both a teacher and a student. Whether I’m coaching a child to read books, writing and illustrating my own book, or teaching martial arts, I’m constantly learning from those around me. Mr. Conolly’s Corner is my way of sharing what I’ve learned so far while continuing to grow alongside you.

• Teaching tips: Creative strategies for fostering literacy and supporting, diverse learners, drawn from my experience as a reading specialist and ESL teacher.

• Resources for teachers and parents: Ideas to spark, a love of reading and writing and kids, including tips for using Angelo’s Garden in the classroom or at home.

Why This Matters to Me

I’ve always believed that stories are powerful. Angelo’s Garden, my first children’s book, was inspired by my grandfather’s memory and the lessons he left behind. It’s a story about connection, legacy, and how the seeds we plant today grow into something beautiful tomorrow. That same belief fuels my work as an educator. It’s our job to help children, celebrate their unique gifts, and help them believe in and reach their potential.
